Lucky Me!

I was just talking with an acquaintance the other day and she was asking me if my job was as great as it looked and sounded. ABSOLUTELY! Now there is a fair amount of non-photography business "stuff" that goes along with it and to me that is where my work lies. The photography part is fun-- I feel like I get to play a little every day! How could you not love seeing into the eyes of children? They say eyes are windows to the soul and I can't agree more. That being said, this little guy was no exception. We were worried about having enough time-- wow! I got more photos in 1 hour that I could have ever imagined. Of course, it didn't hurt that he was the most agreeable 1 year old ever!

Desperately trying to catch up!

I'm so sorry that these have taken me so long to post! This little gal has the sweetest disposition and most infectious smile! We had beautiful weather the day these photos were taken, which is hard to imagine now that it is freezing cold! Snow flurries in the forecast? Enjoy and warm up to these!

By the way this is the second time that we've met :) Here's the first:

"Mom, the leaves stink!"

...and she was absolutely right, they did! Over the weekend, my oldest daughter helped me move some things into my studio. It rained all day Saturday and while I did take a few photos inside, as soon as we pulled up, I saw the spot that I wanted to take her picture. In the Children's Garden across from my studio, there is a tree. I'm not sure what it is called, maybe a tulip tree? I've never seen a tree with more brilliant yellow fall leaves and Saturday's rain created a blanket of yellow on the ground below. We had only a couple minutes on Sunday, but it was enough to capture what I wanted. The hard part...the tree also dropped these little fruits and they smelled so bad. In most of the photos, Hannah has this disgusted look on her face. It certainly was pungent! Anyway...

HIP gets a STUDIO!

I'm so excited to announce that I have leased a cozy studio space in Historic Leesburg! Exposed brick interior, gorgeous wood flooring and just next door to some of my favorite outdoor locations-- perfect! PICTURES to come very soon-- but for now, here's a little snap of my daughter with one of the brick walls in the background opening one of Howie's cases :) Unfortunately for us, it did not contain the $1,000,000.

A hat obsession?

Now I am crazy over hats-- you might call it an obsession. Who says that I collect yarn even though I don't have time to knit (yep, I do know how)? I'm convinced that someday there will miraculously be 25 hours in my day! I haven't counted the number of newborn hats that I have in my trunk... but if I had to guess, I would say my total is over 20 now. Funny how I have my favorites...kinda like a comfy pair of shoes... even though you have a dozen or more pairs...there's that one that gets worn the most... but I digress! This particular one happens to be my "3+ month old baby that is not yet sitting" hat... see it even has a category, but I don't think I can get that on a label.

Stay tuned for my "supposed to fit me, but fit my daughter instead" hat category! It's late, I'm getting a bit nutty, so I'm logging out! More tomorrow!
